Resilience for Life
7 sessions | 1.5 hours per session
This practical seven-session resilience course helps students navigate this season with greater confidence and clarity. They learn how their thoughts, emotions, perceptions and inner resources influence their decisions—and how to respond to challenges with a resilient mindset.

7-Steps to achieve greater thinks
1. The Seven Pillars of Resilience
The course begins with the Seven Pillars of Resilience: optimism, self-efficacy, future orientation, acceptance, responsibility, solution orientation and network orientation.
We use this well-known resilience framework because it gives students a clear and practical overview of resilience. It helps them recognise their existing strengths, identify areas they can develop and understand that resilience is not something people either have or do not have—it can be strengthened over time.
2. Thought Impact Cycle
We have thousands of thoughts every day, and many of them can be negative or unhelpful. But how much influence do these thoughts have on our lives?
Students discover how their thoughts affect their emotions, actions, habits and the environment around them. They learn that thoughts are not commands and that they can choose how to respond.
3. Telephone Concept
The Telephone Concept is a practical tool that explains self-awareness in a simple and relatable way.
Students learn what self-awareness really means, how to recognise what is happening within them and how greater self-awareness can create a better understanding of themselves and the people around them.
4. Perception Filters
Without realising it, we all filter what we experience.
Students discover how generalisation, distortion and deletion shape their view of reality. Without awareness, they can become caught in half-truths, negative thought cycles and stories created in their minds. These stories may not be true, but they can still influence important decisions.
5. The Quest
After learning about the impact of thoughts, self-awareness and perception filters, students are introduced to The Quest.
The Quest is a practical tool that helps them reframe negative and unhelpful thoughts into more positive and helpful ones. This supports a renewed growth mindset and helps students approach challenges from a different perspective.
6. IMOTIK
IMOTIK helps students understand and adjust their imagination, motivation, emotions and energy so they can move towards their goals.
Having a goal can be frustrating when emotions, low motivation or a lack of energy stand in the way. IMOTIK helps students recognise what is holding them back and align their inner resources with what they want to achieve.
7. Gratitude
Resilience and gratitude belong together.
Gratitude helps students focus on the good, joyful and encouraging parts of life—even during difficult seasons when everything may initially feel dark or hopeless. By practising gratitude, they learn to notice the blessings in their lives and strengthen their emotional wellbeing, hope and resilience.
